sooooo I'M MOVING

lifestyleStacey OswaldComment

Since the day I started this blog, I've been complaining about my life in LA. I think I realized early on that it wasn't a good fit for me, and ever since, I've been living in this awkward limbo of joblessness and general confusion over my life plan. I do love the sunshine and SoulCycle, and there are some things about LA that I'm sure I will miss. But I just can't keep living in this unhappy state because the food is amazing- I need to be fulfilled on a deeper level by the place I call home. Also, sorry, but I don't want to spend my life stuck in traffic with a ton of rude people honking their horns 24/7. Sidenote: not everyone in LA is rude, but I will say that the rudeness is far too prevalent for my liking.

SO. Where am I going, you might be wondering???

I'm moving back to Nashville!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After lots of thought, I settled on Nashville because it's the only place that's ever felt like home. I had my moments in Vero (where I lived most of my life), but I never quite felt comfortable there. In Nashville, I really developed a feeling of belonging, so much so that I missed it on a daily/hourly basis when I was in LA. I craved country music, kindness, Southern cooking, and green as far as the eye could see. I missed my friends that still lived in Nashville, and I missed knowing where the heck I was going!!! Seriously, driving in LA is a nightmare. But overall, I just wanted to feel at home again, and while LA has a lot of nice attributes on a surface level, it NEVER felt like home.

I'm currently in the process of applying for jobs, and I'm actually going to be moving into my new condo here in Nashville on September 9th (AKA next week is going to be INSANE packing up all of my stuff). But I'm so excited to know that I'll be back home in no time!

So what does this mean for the blog? Basically, I'm keeping the content the same, except all of the posts about LA will turn into posts about Nashville. I'm really looking forward to covering all of my favorite businesses here in Nashville, especially with the city growing so rapidly. I also plan on updating the blog 3-4x a week, like I used to- I haven't been able to do so lately because my life has been so up in the air, but now that everything is final, I'm ready to start posting again!

So that's that- get ready for more of the same, with a Nashville twist :) Can't wait to start sharing my new life with y'all!
